Terms of Use and Software License
These terms govern your purchase of and access to Pentatonic Riff Forge, offered through Woodshedden.com. By purchasing, requesting access, or using Riff Forge, you agree to these terms.
1. Product and access
Riff Forge is a browser-based digital music-practice product. A one-time payment provides ongoing access while the product remains available and supported. It is not a promise of lifetime, permanent, or uninterrupted availability.
2. Limited license
Subject to these terms and successful payment, you receive a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to access and use Riff Forge for your own lawful personal, educational, or professional practice.
3. Account responsibility
Access is tied to the purchaser’s email address. You are responsible for maintaining access to that email account and protecting sign-in links. You may not share sign-in links, sell or transfer access, provide access as a public or shared account, or circumvent access controls.
4. Permitted educational use
Teachers may display or demonstrate the product in a class they personally teach, but a single purchase does not create institutional, campus-wide, or multi-user licensing. Contact support for broader licensing arrangements.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Copying, republishing, distributing, sublicensing, reselling, or hosting the software or substantial portions of it.
- Removing ownership notices or misrepresenting the product as your own.
- Attempting to bypass authentication, inspect private credentials, exploit the service, or interfere with other users.
- Using automated methods to overload, scrape, or abuse the product.
- Using the service in violation of law or the rights of others.
6. Your saved material
Riffs and names you create remain your material to the extent they are independently protectable. The application stores saved riffs locally in your browser. You are responsible for keeping your own backups or exports when available.
7. Microphone permission
Microphone access is optional and activated only when you choose a microphone-based feature. Results are practice aids and may be affected by device quality, background noise, instrument tuning, browser behavior, and room acoustics.
8. Updates and availability
We may add, remove, redesign, suspend, or discontinue features or the product. We may perform maintenance, experience outages, or limit access for security or legal reasons. Product updates are provided at our discretion.
9. Payment, refunds, and disputes
Payments are processed by Stripe. Refund eligibility is governed by the posted Refund Policy. Access may be suspended or terminated when a payment is refunded, reversed, charged back, disputed, fraudulent, or otherwise unpaid.
10. Beta and early-access status
Riff Forge may be offered as a developing or early-access product. Features may contain errors, behave differently across devices, or change after purchase. You agree to use reasonable judgment and maintain independent copies of important saved material.
11. No professional or educational guarantee
Riff Forge is a practice tool, not a substitute for a qualified instructor, professional audio software, medical hearing guidance, or certified educational programming. We do not guarantee specific musical, academic, commercial, or performance outcomes.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riff Forge is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every device.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability related to Riff Forge will not exceed the amount you paid for the product. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, refund, chargeback, fraud, security threats, material violation of these terms, or unlawful use. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
16. Changes and contact
