Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Pentatonic Riff Forge, offered through Woodshedden.com (“Riff Forge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you visit the product pages, purchase access, request a sign-in link, or use the browser application.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, optional display name, access status, access dates, and last-login information.
- Purchase information: Stripe customer, checkout, payment, amount, currency, payment-status, purchase, and refund identifiers or timestamps. We do not store complete card numbers.
- Security information: one-time login-token hashes, expiration and use timestamps, webhook event identifiers, limited IP information associated with login requests, and server logs.
- Support communications: information you voluntarily include when contacting support.
- Device-local information: saved riffs and interface preferences stored by your browser through local storage.
How we use information
We use information to process and verify purchases, create and manage access, send secure sign-in links, prevent fraud and duplicate processing, provide support, enforce the license, process refunds or disputes, maintain security, and improve the service.
Browser storage and retention
Saved riffs and certain interface preferences are stored locally in the browser on your device. They are not automatically synchronized to our server or other devices. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing browsers, or losing the device may remove them.
Server-side account and purchase records may be retained as reasonably necessary for access administration, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, legal obligations, and business records. Login tokens are time-limited and stored as cryptographic hashes rather than in readable form.
Microphone and audio
Riff Forge asks for microphone permission only when you choose a microphone-based feature. The browser provides the live audio stream to the application for pitch-aware practice. The current application is designed to process that audio in the browser and does not intentionally upload or store microphone recordings on our server. You can deny or revoke microphone permission through your browser or device settings.
Service providers
We use third parties to operate the service, including GoDaddy for website and database hosting, Stripe for payment processing, and email-delivery infrastructure associated with the Woodshedden domain. The application also loads limited web resources such as interface styling and fonts from external providers. Those providers may process technical information under their own policies.
When information may be shared
We may share information with service providers as needed to operate the product; when required by law; to protect users, the service, or our rights; in connection with a business transfer; or with your direction or consent. We do not sell customer personal information to advertisers.
Your choices and rights
You may decline microphone access, clear locally saved browser data, unsubscribe from nonessential messages, and contact us to request reasonable access, correction, or deletion of account information. Some records may be retained when required for legal, accounting, security, refund, or dispute purposes.
Children
Riff Forge is not directed to children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should supervise purchases and use by minors where applicable.
Security
We use measures such as HTTPS, secure sessions, one-time login links, hashed tokens, prepared database queries, and signed Stripe webhook verification. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are posted.
