What we look for
Submissions should help readers understand, improve, create, decide, or see a topic more clearly. Strong work is practical or insightful, explains its reasoning, distinguishes experience from verified fact, and treats readers and subjects with dignity.
Originality and rights
Submit your own work or material you have clear permission to publish. Cite sources when ideas, facts, quotations, images, or research come from others. Do not submit copied, plagiarized, or copyright-infringing work.
Respect across cultures and identities
Woodshedden is intended for an international audience. Commentary may challenge ideas, strategies, media, practices, or institutions, but it should not demean people based on identity, nationality, culture, religion, disability, sex, or other personal characteristics.
Accuracy and safety
Do not present dangerous, illegal, medical, legal, or financial claims as guaranteed advice. Clearly identify personal experience and uncertainty. The editor may add notes, request sourcing, or decline material that could mislead or harm readers.
Editorial process
Submission does not guarantee publication. The editor may correct formatting, spelling, titles, excerpts, and categories; request revisions; or reject work. Contributors retain authorship while granting Woodshedden permission to publish the approved version.
